Chris Clemons Skips Seahawks Mandatory Minicamp

The Seattle Seahawks kicked off their three-day mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, and to head coach Pete Carroll's surprise defensive end Chris Clemons was not in attendance.

“In communication with Chris, I thought he was coming, so this was a little bit of a late development that he’s not. I’m a little surprised that he’s not here,” Carroll told reporters after practice on Tuesday. “We’ve had open communication with the agent and Chris and feel like everything is on the up and up and very amicable and all of that. It continues to be one of our priorities and we would like to get him back.”

Clemons is in the final year of a five-year deal that will pay him close to $4 million. Clemons can be subject to fines totaling up to $60,000 however if the Seahawks decide to fine him.
