Tennessee Titans Sign S Michael Griffin To 5-Year Deal
The Tennessee Titans re-signed safety Michael Griffin to a five-year, $35 million deal.

[Note by Ryan Van Bibber, 06/19/12 4:58 PM EDT ] The full terms of Griffin’s deal were reported later on Tuesday afternoon. The deal is for five-years, $35 million with $15 million guaranteed.
Griffin, Tennessee’s first-round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, was franchised by the Titans in the spring. He never signed his franchise tender, but a holdout seemed unlikely as he attended all of the team’s workouts this spring.
A sturdy centerfield presence for the Titans’ secondary, the University of Texas product has 17 career interceptions. He had two picks last season. Perhaps most impressive of all is that Griffin has yet to miss a game during his five years with the Titans.
Keeping Griffin has been one of the offseason's top priorities for Tennessee, particularly after the team lost cornerback Cortland Finnegan in free agency this year.
