New York Jets defensive tackle Muhammad Wilkerson flipped his car in the wee hours of Saturday morning. Wilkerson hit another car on the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey, causing his car to flip. He received only minor injuries, but was charged with careless driving and failure to maintain his lane, according to ESPN New York.

Wilkerson avoided any serious injuries in part because he was able to crawl out from his overturned car, a 2011 Dodge Challenger. Nobody else involved in the accident was seriously injured. Wilkerson was not driving under the influence, according to the accident report.
The team is keeping a lid on the nature of Wilkerson’s minor injuries. He was checked out, and the Jets were confident that he would be in training camp on time with no limitations.
Wilkerson was the Jets’ first-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. He finished his rookie season with three sacks and 49 total tackles.
