While the New Orleans Saints are in the midst of trying to sign quarterback Drew Brees and dealing with the wake of the bounty system scandal, the team also had a former player suspended by the NFL for three games, according to a report by Aaron Wilson of Scout.com.

Former New Orleans Saints linebacker Ramon Humber has been suspended by the NFL for the first three games of the season, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.

Humber, 24, is a free agent who recorded 21 tackles and a sack last season in 13 games with three starts for the Saints.

Since Humber is a free agent and not on a roster, he'll need to serve the suspension with any team that he signs with. Humber has spent four seasons in the NFL, beginning his career with the Indianapolis Colts.
