Fred Taylor Thinks Maurice Jones-Drew Could Miss Start Of Camp

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew has been looking for a new contract since the end of the 2011 NFL season, a season in which Jones-Drew led the NFL in rushing on a team whose offense was one of the worst in the NFL. Jones-Drew has two years left on his contract, however, and the Jaguars have made it known they don't plan to renegotiate the deal.

Jones-Drew skipped out on the team’s voluntary workouts and mandatory mini-camp, but it’s not known yet if he will report to training camp on time.

Former Jaguars running back Fred Taylor, who took Jones-Drew under his wing as a rookie, thinks that Jones-Drew could miss the start of Jaguars training camp, which starts on July 26. On 1010XL in Jacksonville, Fla. on Thursday morning on Sports Final Radio, Taylor told radio host Jeff Prosser than he believes Jones-Drew will miss the start of training camp, in part because of "hurt pride."
