It's unlikely that the Washington Redskins are going to execute a complete turnaround and challenge for an NFC East division title in 2012, but they appear to be headed in the right direction for the first time in a long time.
Washington Redskins Start Camp July 25
Hopes are high that Robert Griffin III, the first blue-chip quarterback of the Dan Snyder era, can guide the the 'Skins out of the cellar and into playoff contention in the near future. They begin life with Griffin as the franchise QB when they open training camp on Wednesday.
Unfortunately for the Redskins, as bright as their future and the future of Griffin appears to be, rookie quarterbacks usually don’t turn teams into contenders instantly. The Redskins still aren’t going to be a great team in 2012, and they face a fight to avoid finishing in last place in their division.
