The Cleveland Browns open training camp Thursday with a bit of a different look from last season. Leading rusher Peyton Hillis is now in Kansas City and former starting quarterback Colt McCoy is now likely relegated to backup duty.
Cleveland Browns Training Camp Starts Thursday
Now, the face of the franchise is new star running back Trent Richardson. The Alabama product was the No. 3 pick in the NFL Draft. Brandon Weeden, the No. 22 pick in the same draft will likely join Richardson in the backfield as the new starting quarterback.
While youth will bring hope and optimism, the Browns have a long way to go to make up ground in the AFC North. Cleveland finished 4-12 last season and scored the third-fewest points in the league. The new additions on offense will try to help what was a solid defense last season. The Browns finished 2011 with the fifth best scoring defense at 19.2 points per game.
