Jeff Otah's once promising career has hit multiple injury snags, and the Carolina Panthers have decided to cut their losses. The tackle has played just four games over the last two seasons, and the Panthers apparently don't have much faith in him to reach his former level. They've sent the former first round pick to the New York Jets for an undisclosed conditional draft pick.

Otah spent the entire 2010 season on the sidelines and played just four games before going on injured reserve last October. He has yet to overcome knee problems that have persisted for nearly two years now. The conditions of the trade aren’t clear, but it’s a deal that still makes sense for both teams. The Panthers didn’t see Otah as a starter this season and are very light on cap room, while the Jets won’t give up much if Otah doesn’t get healthy and contribute. If he does get over his knee problems, he could be a huge bargain.
