To no one's surprise, the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to be keeping Mike Tomlin around for a while. The Steelers head coach inked a three-year extension with the team, the Steelers announced. This means Tomlin is under contract through the 2016 season.
Mike Tomlin Signs 3-Year Contract Extension With Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers announced a three-year contract extension for Mike Tomlin, keeping him under contract in Pittsburgh through the 2016 season.

Considering Tomlin is just the third Steelers head coach since the merger, this extension was a safe bet. Tomlin has led the Steelers to the playoffs in four of his first five seasons and had the top ranked defense in three of those years. Two Super Bowl trips in your first five years isn’t too bad either.
“I am excited that I will continue to be the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers for years to come,” said Tomlin. “I am grateful to the Steelers organization for the opportunity I have been given over the past five years to work and live in this great city, and I am excited to continue to work to bring another championship to the Steelers and the city of Pittsburgh.”
No financial terms of the deal were announced but the Steelers will keep the third head coach in franchise history for at least a few more years.
