Dre Kirkpatrick Confirms Injury, Apologizes To Fans

Cincinnati Bengals rookie defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick suffered what was called a knee injury, according to several reports. He could miss most, if not all, of the Bengals training camp which starts this week. Though we haven't heard from the team on the subject -- they don't have to discuss injuries yet -- Kirkpatrick confirmed on Twitter that he does have some sort of injury.

Apologizing for an injury will earn him some points with Bengals fans. We’re not sure exactly how he was injured or what the specific problem is, but multiple reports have him missing a good chunk of the Bengals minicamp, which is disappointing. Rookies need all the time they can get early in the year, so Kirkpatrick will be behind.

SB Nation’s Cincy Jungle writes that Kirkpatrick’s injury could be a blow to the team, because they were in need fo cornerbacks as it is.
