There was some rather terrifying news that broke on Monday morning as police are investigating what appeared to be a suicide attempt by Tennessee Titans wide receiver O.J. Murdock.
Police Investigate O.J. Murdock’s Attempted Suicide
Tennessee Titans wide receiver O.J. Murdock was reportedly found in his car Monday morning with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Tampa police are currently looking into what is deemed a suicide attempt as he Murdock’s been taken to the hospital with “critical” injuries.


The 25-year-old Murdock, who was listed on the Titans roster as part of the “Reserve / Did Not Report” list, was reportedly found in his car Monday morning with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Officers discovered Orenthal James Murdock, 25, about 8:30 a.m. in his car in front of Middleton High School, 2502 E Wilder Ave., with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Murdock was taken to Tampa General Hospital with critical injuries, Tampa police said.
According to the article, Murdock graduated from Middleton High in 2005.
Murdock went undrafted in the 2011 NFL Draft out of Fort Hays State, but signed with the Titans for his rookie season. He was yet to play in an NFL game, however, as he spent all of last season in the injured reserve due to the right Achilles injury he suffered in training camp last season.
