St. Louis Rams Cancel London Games For 2013, 2014

The St. Louis Rams were scheduled to play in London for each of the next three seasons, but the team has decided to cancel the trip in 2013 and 2014.

The St. Louis Rams are no longer planning on playing in London during the 2013 and 2014 seasons, according to an email sent to season ticket holders from VP of football operations Kevin Demoff.

“We wanted to let our season ticket holders know that in an effort to focus on the Edward Jones Dome First Tier Process with the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission, the St. Louis Rams are withdrawing our commitment to play a home game in London in each of the 2013 and 2014 seasons,” Demoff’s email read.

The Rams are scheduled to play in Wembley Stadium on Oct. 28 of this year against the New England Patriots and were also penciled in to head back across the Atlantic for the next few seasons.

“We are looking forward to playing in London this season as the NFL’s international series offers a unique opportunity to grow the American football audience, expand the Rams’ brand to international fans and enhance St. Louis on the global stage,” Demoff’s email continued. “However, moving forward, we believe our attention needs to be on the ongoing First Tier process.”
