Perrish Cox, expected to make the San Francisco 49ers' roster as a nickel cornerback, won't be facing a suspension from the NFL this season.
Perrish Cox Won’t Face NFL Suspension
49ers cornerback Perrish Cox won’t face a suspension from the NFL related to his sexual assault case from 2010.

According to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee, the 49ers and Cox have been notified of the decision that the NFL will not seek a suspension after reviewing the case.
Cox was found not guilty of sexually assualting a woman in 2010 at his home in Denver, and was released by the Broncos before the 2011 season. After the court case was concluded, the 49ers signed Cox to add to their already-impressive defensive lineup. The young cornerback has impressed his new coaching staff, according to Niners Nation:
With this issue off the table, the focus will be entirely on football moving forward. From a purely football perspective, it sounds like Cox has impressed the coaching staff thus far. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has praised his work as a nickel and outside cornerback. Initially it seemed like the competition for playing time would be between Cox, Chris Culliver and Tramaine Brock. However, Brock has focused on the outside cornerback role, while Cox has gotten work at both positions.
Despite being found not guilty in the case, Cox was still under threat of suspension by the NFL, with the league’s personal conduct policy allowing suspensions even in cases where players are deemed not guilty.
