Following a preseason game between the Arizona Cardinals and Oakland Raiders on Friday night in Glendale, a person was shot in a hotel parking lot just north of University of Phoenix Stadium. The shooting victim suffered a life-threatening injury and was immediately admitted into a local hospital. Doctors believe they will survive.
‘Fan-Based’ Shooting Occurs Near Raiders-Cardinals Game
A person was shot following the conclusion of an NFL preseason game.

The shooter, whose name has not been released, called 911 around 9:30 p.m. locally and remained with the victim until help arrived. According to the police report, the caller accidentally fired the gun during an argument.
“The caller did not attempt to flee the area and remained at the scene near the victim,” police said, according to a report in the Arizona Republic. “Glendale officers that were working security in the area were able to quickly arrive on scene while the caller was still on the phone with 911. The potential suspect was immediately taken into custody without incident.”
The police are calling the shooting “fan-based”. They did not go into much more detail than that.
No charges have been pressed at this time and the shooting suspect has been released. More to come shortly as details about the case are made public.
