Giants Vs. Jets Final Score: G-Men Sack Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow A Combined Seven Times In 26-3 Romp

The New York Giants demolished the New York Jets by a score of 26-3, sacking Jets quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow a combined seven times Saturday night in a preseason game at MetLife Stadium.

The Giants were hardly prolific offensively, racking up only 232 yards, but they had short fields to work with all night thanks to an even more anemic Jets offense that racked up only 148 yards. Both teams were woeful on third downs, going a combined 3-for-25, and each completed 14-of-25 passing attempts.

Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes went 4-for-4 on field goals, cornerback Jayron Hosley returned a Sanchez interception 77 yards for a touchdown with 2:03 remaining in the first half and third-string quarterback Ryan Perrilloux tossed a 14-yard touchdown to running back Joe Martinek with 6:41 left in the game.

Eli Manning did not have his best outing, completing only 7-of-14 passes for 62 yards and a first-quarter interception to safety LaRon Landry, who signed with the Jets in the offseason.

Josh Brown scored the Jets' lone points with a 30-yard field goal with 3:26 left in the third quarter.

Sanchez was accurate (9-for-11 passing) but only threw for 59 yards and took three sacks in addition to his pick-six. Tebow didn’t contribute much with his arm or legs, completing only 5-of-14 passes for 69 yards while gaining five yards on two rushing attempts. He was sacked four times.
