Crennel, who was known as a player’s coach in Cleveland, certainly knows when a hard critique is warranted. While the game was far from a catastrophe, he didn’t see the need for much positive spin.

Stephen Jackson rushed for 49 yards on seven carries early in the game for the Rams before departing to the bench for the night.

The Giants were hardly prolific offensively, racking up only 232 yards, but they had short fields to work with all night thanks to an even more anemic Jets offense that racked up only 148 yards. Both teams were woeful on third downs, going a combined 3-for-25, and each completed 14-of-25 passing attempts.
Sanchez was accurate (9-for-11 passing) but only threw for 59 yards and took three sacks in addition to his pick-six. Tebow didn’t contribute much with his arm or legs, completing only 5-of-14 passes for 69 yards while gaining five yards on two rushing attempts. He was sacked four times.

Hardin would stay down on the field for a while and had to be removed on a stretcher. He raised his arms on the stretcher, eliciting cheers from the crowd.
Hardin was taken by the Bears in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft despite missing the entirety of his senior season at Oregon State in 2011. He had 47 tackles and a sack for the Beavers as a junior in 2010.

Brandon Meriweather Injury: Redskins Safety Helped Off The Field
The Redskins later announced via Twitter that the injury would end the safety’s night as he would not be returning to Saturday’s game at any point in time. According to an on-air report from CSN Washington, it was a sprained knee for Meriweather, although the severity of the sprain is not yet known.

Newly acquired San Francisco 49ers running back Brandon Jacobs went down with what appears to be a serious left knee injury in the first quarter of Saturday night’s preseason game against the Houston Texans.
The injury occurred on Jacobs’ first carry of the game, an eight yard run. His left knee appeared to collide with cornerback Kareem Jackson’s helmet/shoulder pad area and Jacobs remained down on the field for several minutes.
