The Philadelphia Eagles aren't worried about Michael Vick's availability for the regular-season opener.
Eagles Say Michael Vick Will Be Ready For Season Opener
Andy Reid said Vick will be ready to go on Sept. 9 when the Eagles play the Cleveland Browns, reports Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com. Reid also said that if the games counted now, Vick would be playing.
Earlier this week, Vick underwent an MRI which revealed no damage to his rib bones or cartilage. Even so, it’s almost a certainty that he’ll be held out the rest of the preseason.
Vick’s expected availability for the regular season must come as a breath of fresh air to Philly fans considering all of the time Vick has missed due to injury in previous years, including missing three games with a rib injury in 2010.
With Vick on the sidelines for now, rookie Nick Foles will start against the Browns on Friday.
