Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick says his ribs are "80% healthy" after sustaining an injury in the Eagles' 27-17 preseason win over the New England Patriots, reports Robert Klemko of USA Today. Head Coach Andy Reid believes that Vick will be ready for the regular-season opener.

The dual-threat QB has thrown for 39 touchdowns in 25 games the last two seasons for the Eagles. He also rushed for 1,265 yards and ten touchdowns over that span. Vick is important to Philadelphia’s offensive success and provides a unique set of skills that are unlike many others around the league. Vick threw just three passes and rushed once before being knocked out of the game against New England Monday night.
