Prince Amukamara went down with a foot injury in the first quarter of the New York Giants preseason game against the Chicago Bears. The injury initially appeared serious, and Amukamara had to be removed from the field by cart and was taken into the locker room for X-rays. It was the same foot that Amukamara injured in 2011, which lead to him missing the majority of the 2011 NFL season.

Amukamara was filling in for injured Terrell Thomas, so his injury leaves the Giants even thinner at defensive back. Amukamara had registered one tackle in the game and was tackling Brandon Marshall when the injury occurred. The second-year pro had yet to impress in the preseason, and had been criticized for not showing an edge of the field.
