Mathias Kiwanuka Injury: Giants LB Strains Groin, Will Not Return For 2nd Half

Giants linebacker Mathias Kiwanuka injured his groin on the final play of the first half during New York's preseason game against the Bears on Friday. Kiwanuka remained down and shaken up for an extended period of time before walking off under his own power. He was surrounded by a cadre of Giants training staff as he walked to the locker room well behind the rest of his team.

Kiwanuka did not return for the second half with what the Giants called a sprained groin. He had a very impressive first 30 minutes, wreaking havoc in the backfield and applying consistent pressure on Jay Cutler. He was credited with two tackles for loss in the first half.
