Oakland Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski doesn't appear like he'll be out on Sept.10 against the San Diego Chargers after hurting his foot on Saturday night, according to CSNBayarea.com.
Sebastian Janikowski’s Injury Not Expected To Keep Him Out Week 1
Janikowski was injured against the Detroit Lions and was seen getting treatment after hobbling off the field. Luckily, head coach Dennis Allen doesn't believe the issue is a serious one.
“He’s got basically a sore groin,” Allen said. “He’s a little tight but doesn’t seem to be any pull or defect in the muscle or anything like that, so I don’t anticipate it being a big deal.”
Allen even said he felt good about Janikowski being available for the Raiders’ final preseason game later this week.
“That would be my assumption after seeing him today,” Allen said, when speaking about Janikowski’s chances of kicking in that contest Thursday in Seattle. “I don’t really anticipate that being anything that really carries over into the regular season.”
Janikowski is one of the best kickers in the league perennially, making the Pro Bowl finally in 2011.
