The Detroit Lions are looking to add a running back, according to NFL Network's Jason La Confora.
Lions Reportedly Seek To Trade For Running Back
The Lions are in the market for a running back, according to Jason La Confora.

The Lions have been without a top-tier runner since Barry Sanders and only have had capable men in the backfield such as James Stewart and Kevin Smith in the years since. With a proven quarterback in Matthew Stafford and a plethora of wide receivers, general manager Martin Mayhew is trying to complete the puzzle with the skill positions.
Of course, the obvious name "on the market" is Maurice Jones-Drew, who is currently at a stalemate with the Jacksonville Jaguars in regards to a new contract. Could Detroit try to swoop in and make a big play for one of the elite running backs in the game today?
It's uncertain who Mayhew is trying to target, but with Mikel Leshoure and Smith as the main options right now, it's understandable why he's inquiring about some other talent.
