St. Louis Rams defensive tackle Michael Brockers will have an MRI on his right ankle on Friday. The rookie defensive tackle was wearing a walking boot after the game, and his status for the season opener in Detroit on Sunday, Sep. 9, is up in the air.
Michael Brockers Injury: MRI Coming Friday
One concern with Brockers’ ankle injury is that it could be a high ankle sprain. Reports on Thursday night said that it was not believed to be that serious of an injury, but the team cannot be sure until it gets the results of the MRI.
Brockers was injured on a cut block at the tail end of the first quarter. He was assisted off the field by the Rams’ training staff and carted off the locker room.
The Rams were already thin at the position behind Brockers and Kendall Langford, the team's other starting defensive tackle. General manager Les Snead revealed during the broadcast of Thursday night's game that the Rams planned to seek help at the position.
The Rams selected Brockers, a redshirt sophomore out of LSU, in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft with the 14th overall pick.
