Bears, Texans Make A Trade

The Chicago Bears have traded FB Tyler Clutts to the Houston Texans in exchange for CB Sherrick McManis, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. The Texans, to make room on the roster for Clutts, waived FB Moran Norris. According to McClain, Clutts is expected to backup starting FB James Casey.

Clutts has been a journeyman in football since going undrafted out of Fresno State in 2008, playing two years in the Canadian Football League, and splitting time between the AFL and UFL in 2010. Clutts was signed off the Cleveland Browns practice squad in 2011 and played the past two season with Bears, splitting time between duties as fullback and long-snapper.

McManis was drafted by the Texans in the fourth round in 2010, playing primarily on special teams and getting spot duty as a backup cornerback.
