Deion Branch Another Patriots Roster Cut Surprise

The New England Patriots will be releasing wide receiver Deion Branch on Friday, according to a report by Adam Schefter.

Originally selected by the Patriots with the No. 65 overall selection in the 2002 NFL Draft, the 33-year-old receiver won two Super Bowl titles with the team in addition to being named the MVP in Super Bowl XXXIX. Following the 2005 season, he held out and was subsequently traded to the Seattle Seahawks for a first-round pick. In 2010, he was traded back to the Patriots for a fourth round pick.

In 2011, Branch registered 51 receptions for 702 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games played.
