The Seattle Seahawks announced their final round of roster cuts on Friday evening. The team had until 9 p.m. ET to trim their roster down to 53 players.
Seahawks Roster Cuts: Seattle Goes With 2 Quarterbacks
It had taken some time for the coaching staff to identify their starting quarterback, although Russell Wilson was finally named the starter last week. After trading Tarvaris Jackson and cutting Josh Portis, the team has just two QBs on the roster: Wilson and Matt Flynn.
The following players have been waived: Phillip Adams, Pierre Allen, Allen Bradford, Deon Butler, Kris Durham, Paul Fanaika, Rishaw Johnson, Jermaine Kearse, Kyle Knox, Cordarro Law, Ricardo Lockette, Sean McGrath, Kris O'Dowd, Josh Portis, DeShawn Shead, Korey Toomer and Lavasier Tuinei.
Cooper Helfet and Vai Taua were waived due to injuries. James Carpenter has been placed on the PUP list. Matt McCoy was placed on the injured reserve. Walter Thurmond was placed on the PUP list while Pep Levingston was waived after reaching an injury settlement.
