Seahawks Fans React To Terrell Owens Signing

Late on Sunday night, the rumors started to fly that wide receiver Terrell Owens was headed to the Pacific Northwest to work out with the Seattle Seahawks. Less than 24 hours later, word came out that he had impressed at his workout. By Monday evening, the Seahawks officially announced that Owens was signed to a one-year, league-minimum contract.

As you can imagine, the Internet and talk radio exploded with unsolicited opinions on the move even before the workout occurred. Now that pen has been put to paper, how are Seahawks fans feeling about the deal? Danny Kelly at Field Gulls offers his take:

This seems like a low-risk move for the Seahawks, and right in line with their M.O. This front office likes competitive types with chips on their shoulder and/or something to prove, and T.O. has that in spades. Not only does Owens still believe he can play in the NFL at a high level, he has financial motivation to stick with the team. He’s apparently been working very hard to get himself back into playing shape, a success that is evidenced by his shocking workout today in which several Seahawks receivers tweeted their positive impressions.

Of course, this is one of the more level-headed reactions to the deal. It certainly is a low-risk move by the Seahawks, but Owens has far more detractors than supporters these days.
