Buffalo Bills fans will not be able to watch their team live in Thursday night's preseason opener against the Washington Redskins. The Bills announced on Tuesday that more than 20,000 tickets remain unsold and, with the 72-hour deadline passing, the game will not be shown on local TV.
Redskins-Bills Game Blacked Out In Buffalo
The Buffalo Bills preseason game against the Washington Redskins on Thursday will be blacked out in Buffalo.
Check out the Bills website to see if your area will be blacked out on local TV. There’s also information there on when the game will be played on a tape-delayed basis in the coming days after Thursday’s game is played live.
Bills fans won't be able to see their first round pick, Stephon Gilmore, who is receiving some hype in Buffalo. They also won't be able to see the preseason debut of Robert Griffin III, the No. 2 overall pick and quarterback for the Redskins.
Of note is that the Bills passed on the NFL’s new blackout exemptions.
The Bills will feature a nine-game home schedule this year with one game being played in Toronto.
