Week 1 is in the books, and many teams didn’t escape unscathed. In addition to the injuries they had coming into the week, some NFC South franchises are dealing with new setbacks.

Three members of the New Orleans Saints had to leave Sunday's game against Washington early -- cornerback Johnny Patrick had to be helped off because of a leg injury, wide receiver Devery Henderson took a knee to the head and linebacker Scott Shanle suffered a leg injury. Details of those injuries have not been released.

The Atlanta Falcons lost cornerback Brent Grimes to a calf injury in the fourth quarter of their win over the Chiefs. Grimes made the Pro Bowl in 2010. After the game, Falcons head coach Mike Smith said he is not certain of the injury's severity and did not offer a timetable for return.

The Carolina Panthers did not have running back Jonathan Stewart in their loss to the Bucs on Sunday. Stewart is still working his way back from an ankle injury suffered during Carolina's third preseason game. He was listed as questionable for the opener.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were without wide receiver Arrelious Benn and cornerbacks Anthony Gaitor and E.J. Biggers on Sunday.
