With all the dust settled following an exciting Week 1 in the 2012 NFL season save the Monday night games, it’s time to take a look at which teams escaped without serious damage.
NFL Injury Report: NFC East Relatively Healthy After Week 1
The NFC East teams didn’t suffer any season-altering injuries in Week 1, keeping everyone feeling good going into next Sunday.
In the NFC East, things couldn't have went better for the Dallas Cowboys. Not only did they beat the defending Super Bowl champions on the road, but also came home relatively healthy. The only injury suffered was a back ailment with center Phil Costa, who is currently thought to be day-to-day.
Jay Ratliff missed the opener with a high ankle sprain but many expect him to play in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks.
The Washington Redskins suffered a few injuries. Safety Jordan Bernstine appeared to suffer a bad knee injury and was carted off the field while long snapper Nick Sundberg broke his left arm. Pierre Garcon also left the field in the second quarter with a foot injury, but his X-rays were negative.
The aforementioned New York Giants also have some bumps and bruises. Prince Amukamara has an ankle issue that may keep him out for a game or so, while corner Michael Coe could return after straining his hamstring on Wednesday night.
Offensive lineman James Brewer and Will Beatty along with defensive tackle Marvin Austin are all still trying to work their way onto the field while dealing with back problems.
As for the Philadelphia Eagles, they don't appear to have any injuries following a narrow 17-16 win against the Cleveland Browns.
