Black Hole, Done: Chargers Win In Oakland, 22-14

For any other league, a 36 percent nosedive in the ratings might be considered cause for alarm, but the National Football League remains number one on our televisions, and therefore, in our hearts.

In the late game, the San Diego-Oakland contrast drew 10.4 million viewers, down six percent from last year’s Oakland-Denver late game (11.1 million), though it drew higher ratings in the Adults 18-49 demographic than the Baltimore-Cincinnati game, beating it 4.9 to 4.7. So don’t worry, NFL, you’re still the king. Just maybe give us some better Monday night games next year.

The San Diego Chargers took advantage of sloppy play by Oakland’s special teams to score crucial field goals that made the difference.

I’m not master of lip-readistry, but there was an interesting close-up of San Diego Chargers head coach Norv Turner during his team’s game against the Oakland Raiders on Monday Night Football.

It’s anybody’s guess what is actually being said here, but I’ll give it the old college try, if you’ll indulge me.

Ford wasn’t expected to suit up, but Moore was going to be a game-time decision after practices last week.

Fantasy Impact: Ryan Mathews will be a top five fantasy back when he’s healthy. He will shoulder the full workload in San Diego and is talented enough to pile up fantasy points. His biggest issue will continue to be staying on the field. If he comes back too soon he could risk re-injury. Still, Mathews should return to RB1 status soon enough.

Over at CBS Sports the experts were split, with five selecting the Bolts and the other four picking the Raiders. One pick for the Raiders came from the prediction machine.

Out of the 14 ESPN experts, eight of them are taking San Diego this week, while the other six see Oakland as the top dog.
