San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews is inactive for the team's Monday night game against the Oakland Raiders, according to Ricky Henne of Chargers.com. Mathews broke his collarbone on the first preseason carry he received. He didn't play any preseason games after his injury and has not yet been cleared for contact. Though Mathews vowed to be ready for the season opener, he has set his sights on Week 2 at this point.

Fantasy Impact: Ryan Mathews will be a top five fantasy back when he’s healthy. He will shoulder the full workload in San Diego and is talented enough to pile up fantasy points. His biggest issue will continue to be staying on the field. If he comes back too soon he could risk re-injury. Still, Mathews should return to RB1 status soon enough.
