Jake Locker Injury: Separated Shoulder, Expected To Be Ready In Week 2

Tennessee Titans starting quarterback Jake Locker is expected to play Sunday against the Chargers, despite suffering a separated left (non-throwing) shoulder last weekend.

The injury occurred after Locker threw an interception and was forced to chase down and tackle Patriots defender Patrick Chung.

Locker’s separated shoulder is not believed to be serious, but he had an MRI on Monday to confirm the absence of structural damage.

He and Matt Hasselbeck will likely split time at practice, but the Titans believe that Locker will be Sunday's starter.

“If we still feel he can be productive, run around and do the things he needs to do to play the position, then we’re going to be fine with him playing,” said coach Mike Munchak. “If for some reason he’s not able to do those things, then we won’t put him in a position that he shouldn’t be in.”

The second-year QB out of Washington managed 23 completions, 229 yards, and a touchdown against the Patriots, but he also threw an interception and lost a fumble.
