John Skelton Injury: 2-4 Weeks For Cardinals QB

Cardinals quarterback John Skelton will miss two to four weeks after suffering an ankle injury in the fourth quarter of Arizona's victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, according to Pro Football Talk.

The injury is described as a low ankle sprain, and it came as Skelton was being hit while completing a pass on Arizona's go-ahead touchdown drive. Backup quarterback Kevin Kolb came in to finish the drive and lead the Cardinals to the score.

Jess Root, from Revenge of the Birds, did some research into the details of Skelton’s injury:

This isn’t a typical twisted ankle or rolled ankle. That is a “lateral sprain.” It happens when your foot rolls inward. This injury to Skelton is more of a case when the foot is forced too far to the outside.

It had to be painful. Kevin Kolb said that Skelton is as tough as nails and he knew that he was hurt when he didn’t get back up. “He’s not going to wallow around whenever he’s just got a little ding,” explained Kolb Sunday night.

Kolb will be called upon to replace the tough-as-nails Skelton as the Cardinals face the New England Patriots on Sunday.
