Aaron Rodgers: Short Week ‘Better’ Way To Rebound From A Tough Loss

The Packers have a short week following last Sunday’s defeat, and Aaron Rodgers believes that’s a good thing.

The Green Bay Packers didn't exactly start out their season in style, losing a frustrating 30-22 game to the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday. They're hoping to rebound on Thursday against another NFC contender, though, and it just happens to be the franchise's biggest rival, the Chicago Bears.

Some might wonder if Green Bay is scrambling to prepare following the season-opening loss, but quarterback Aaron Rodgers insisted during an interview with ESPN Radio Milwaukee on Wednesday that the short week actually helps the Packers:

It’s better. Because you get back out onto the field. You get back on the field quickly; the toughest part about this job is really the weeks after a loss. It’s a grind regular season, and it’s even worse when you lose because you have that feeling that you just can’t wait to get back onto the field and try to remedy the things that went wrong. But the silver lining here is that we get to get back out there in a couple of days and play a common opponent.

The Bears are certainly a common opponent, as the teams play twice each year as NFC North foes, but they're not an easy one. After a 41-21 pounding of the Indianapolis Colts last week, the Bears could be primed for a solid postseason run this year.
