Week 2 NFL Odds: Jets Vs. Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers are six-point favorites over the New York Jets heading into the their home opener on Sunday.

The New York Jets head to the Pittsburgh Steelers as six-point underdogs, despite easily beating the Buffalo Bills in Week 1 and the Steelers losing against the Denver Broncos.

According to our partners at OddsShark.com, the over/under on the game currently sits at 41.5.

The Jets opened the season with a 48-28 win over the Bills in dominant fashion, with Mark Sanchez passing for 266 yards and three touchdowns. The defense, despite allowing nearly 400 yards of offense by the time the game was complete, forced four turnovers and gave the Jets the chance to recover from a relatively slow start.

The Steelers, meanwhile, lost on the road 31-19 against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. The game was closer than the score would indicate, with Ben Roethlisberger throwing a pick-six to Tracy Porter in the game's final minutes.

Pittsburgh opened as six-and-a-half-point favorites, with most betting sites now having the line wavering between five and a half and six points in favor of the Steelers. While the Jets were able to easily beat a bad Buffalo team, it’s obvious that bettors are still heavily on the side of the Steelers, a team that faced what many consider a Super Bowl contender in Denver in a game that was closer than it looked.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. ET on Sunday, Sept. 16.
