The New York Giants, the defending Super Bowl champions, narrowly avoided going 0-2 Sunday, as they somehow pulled off an amazing second-half rally to defeat the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 41-34, at MetLife Stadium.
The contest featured a terrible first-half from the Giants, who rallied behind a video game-like performance (510 passing yards) from their quarterback Eli Manning, who seemed to find wide receiver Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz for big play after big play in the fourth quarter.

Honestly, nothing here Giants’ fans shouldn’t be used to. It’s a team that never makes anything easy. They are determined to give you a heart attack, and someday they might just give you -- and coach Tom Coughlin -- one.
Sunday’s crazy 41-34 victory? Just business as usual for the Giants, who always seem to do things the hard way.
For Giants fans the beginning of Week 2 wasn’t fun but the end sure was.
