Despite recent reports to the contrary, the Buffalo Bills will not be playing more than one game per season in Toronto. In his weekly radio appearance on WGR-AM 550, Bills CEO Russ Brandon refuted an earlier report from the Buffalo News that said Toronto would be given more than one game per year when the next deal between the city and the Bills was reached.

The Buffalo News article theorized that the new deal would likely see eight games at the Rogers Centre over the next five years, but Brandon was quick to assure Buffalo fans that Toronto would not see any increase in regular season appearances by the Bills.

“We’re continuing those negotiations and we’re close to an agreement,” said Brandon. “But the one thing that I will say is the report in the Buffalo News was not accurate. The one thing I want to make clear is we will not be playing multiple regular season games in Toronto.”

The Bills have played one game per season in Toronto since 2008 and two preseason games over that time span, but the current contract with Toronto expires at the end of this season. The Buffalo Bills will face the Seattle Seahawks at 4:05 p.m. ET Dec. 16 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. The game will be televised on Fox.
