Replacement ref admits it was an interception

It’s an odd rule to cite given how unclear everything actually was on that play. There are simultaneous-catch rules, which are cited at the end of the statement that corroborate the earlier note that offensive players get the nod in those situations.

With no timeouts and less than a minute to play, the Seahawks got one final chance after forcing a Green Bay 3-and-out inside their own 5-yard line. Taking over at the 45-yard line, Wilson would move the Seahawks inside the 25 before being forced to heave it into the end zone. An animated gif of the play:
The amazing play ended a half in which the Packers controlled the ball nearly the entire 30 minutes. The Packers finally scored their first touchdown with just under nine minutes remaining in the game, taking their first lead.

Packers Vs. Seahawks Score Update: Green Bay Ends Shutout, Trails 7-6
The second drive stalled out just outside the red zone, ending with a Crosby 40-yard field goal. The drive was prolonged moments earlier when Seatlle was whistled for illegal hands to the face fifty yards away from a Cedric Benson run that came up short of the first-down marker. The additional first down put Green Bay well within Crosby’s range.
While Rodgers was pressured in the third quarter, he was not sacked -- a drastic improvement for the Packers after the catastrophic first half. But the Seahawks defense still buckled down when Green Bay entered their territory, keeping the Packers out of the end zone.
