C.J. Spiller injury: Bills RB could practice this week after all

After suffering what appeared to be a serious injury on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller could be back at practice before the end of the week. Bills head coach Chan Gailey was noncommittal on whether Spiller would be back for sure:

“He’s not going to practice today, but we’re hoping we’ll get him a few reps maybe by the end of the week,” said Gailey of Spiller. “I don’t know for sure. We’ll see.”

Spiller suffered a sprained A.C. joint, which is not as serious as the broken collarbone or separated shoulder that many initially thought he suffered. He will still likely miss the Bills' game against the Patriots, but could very well be back in the lineup the next week against the 49ers. The Bills received even more good news on Wednesday, as Fred Jackson returned to practice for the first time since getting hurt Week 1 against the Jets.
