NFL inactive list, Patriots vs. Bills: Fred Jackson, C.J. Spiller listed as active

Running backs Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller will each play for the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

The New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills inactives have been released, and both Bills running backs Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller will play in Sunday's Week 4 contest at Ralph Wilson Stadium (1 p.m. on CBS). Jackson (knee) is expected to start and get most of the carries, while Spiller (shoulder) will play in a reserve role.

The news ends a week of speculation on whether the two featured tailbacks would start for the Bills, and it also completes a very fast recovery for both players, who were expected to miss multiple weeks – Jackson missed last week's 24-14 victory over the Cleveland Browns, while Spiller missed no time after being injured last week.

It also means the Bills enter Sunday healthy, as listed on their inactive list are: Quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, safety Delano Howell, defensive end Kyle Moore, lineback Kirk Morrison, offensive tackle Sam Young, center Colin Brown and wide receiver Ruvell Martin.

As for the Patriots, there are no major surprises. Both wide receiver Julian Edelman and tight end Aaron Hernandez are listed as out. Others on the Patriots inactive list are: Defensive end Brandon Deaderick, cornerback Alfonzo Dennard, defensive end Justin Francis, guard Logan Mankins and offensive lineman Matt Tennant.
