The San Francisco 49ers bounced back in a big way after losing for the first time in Week 3, beating the New York Jets 34-0 on Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium.

The New York offense could not get anything going against San Francisco's defense, turning the ball over four times and gaining only 145 yards. Mark Sanchez was 13-of-29 for 103 yards with an interception and a fumble.

The 49ers gained 379 yards, spreading the ball out to a number of players. Alex Smith was unspectacular, but solid, completing 12 passes for 143 yards. Backup quarterback Colin Kaepernick rushed five times for 50 yards, including the game's first touchdown.

San Francisco also got rushing touchdowns from Frank Gore and Kendall Hunter. The defense scored once when Carlos Rogers picked up a fumble by the injured Santonio Holmes and returned it 51 yards to the end zone. David Akers tacked on field goals of 36 and 50 yards.

The 49ers are now 3-1 on the season while the Jets go to 2-2.

Fantasy studs/duds: Frank Gore did not go over the 100-yard mark, only rushing for 62 yards on 21 carries, but his touchdown should benefit his fantasy owners. San Francisco’s defense also did well for owners, forcing four turnovers and keeping the shutout. Those owning Sanchez were let down by his 13-for-29 passing performance that went for 103 yards, no touchdowns and an interception.
