It was a fairly routine direct snap, but thanks to some theatrics on the part of Josh Freeman, this quickly became a big gain for Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back D.J. Ware.
Josh Freeman’s theatrics help big gain
A direct snap leads to a huge gain on an unconventional play.

Freeman was perhaps a touch too overdramatic, but the intent was there, nonetheless. This is how the play was drawn up, and how Freeman understood it:
Drawn up: Act like it was an errant snap, and while the defense is caught napping the running back gets the edge for a big gain.
Freeman’s understanding: The ball goes to D.J, I act like I’ve been shot.
