Justin Blackmon’s Injury Isn’t A Big Deal

While Justin Blackmon suffered an ankle injury in practice Wednesday, it doesn't appear that it will affect his availability for the Jacksonville Jaguars game against the Minnesota Vikings this week.

The rookie wide receiver reportedly did not have any after-effects, as he was ready to go on Thursday:

SB Nation’s Big Cat Country didn’t sound too concerned about the situation.

It's good news for Jaguars fans, who had to suffer through a punchless offense in 2011 that featured a struggling rookie quarterback (Blaine Gabbert) with very few weapons to get the ball to in the passing game.

Blackmon, a two-time Biletnikoff Award winner at Oklahoma State, was drafted No. 5 overall to give Gabbert some help, but rookie WRs have one of the toughest transition processes coming out of college.

The last thing Blackmon needs in 2012 is a lingering ankle injury, so it will be something to watch closely on Sunday.
