2013 NFL Playoff predictions: Seahawks vs. Falcons

Despite playing on the road against the No. 1 team in the NFC, a number of NFL analysts are picking the Seahawks to advance to the NFC Championship.

The Seattle Seahawks are the No. 5 seed in the NFC, and despite going on the road for the second straight week to face the No. 1-seeded Falcons, a number of NFL analysts are predicting Seattle to pull the upset.

Atlanta finished the regular season with a 7-1 home record and are well-rested from the bye week, but that wasn’t enough to dissuade six of the the eight CBS Sports NFL analysts from picking Seattle. Pete Prisco and Will Brinson were the only two analysts to pick Atlanta. While both AFC home teams were favored by the CBS experts, Atlanta and San Francisco were both underdogs. Only one analyst picked San Francisco.

SB Nation's Joel Thorman joined the CBS analysts in picking Seattle. Thorman cited the way Seattle has played on its current six-game winning streak and their ability to match up against Julio Jones and Roddy White as two reasons he picked the Seahawks.

The Falcons weren’t, however, underdogs everywhere. Two of the three Yahoo! Sports NFL analysts picked Atlanta to advance. The good news for the Falcons is that Mike Silver and Jason Cole, who posted 178-82 and 177-83 pick records during the season, chose Atlanta. Les Carpenter, who has a record of 160-100, picked Seattle.
