2013 NFL Playoff odds and lines: Seahawks vs. Falcons

The Seattle Seahawks open as three-point underdogs on the road against the top-seeded Atlanta Falcons.

Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

In the Wild Card Round, the Seattle Seahawks were favored on the road and came away the victors; if they want to advance past the Divisional Round, they'll have to do so as underdogs.

Seattle opened as three-point underdogs to the Atlanta Falcons this week. Since opening, the line has moved and sits between one and three points, depending on the sportsbook.

Coming off their 24-14 win over the Washington Redskins, the Seahawks remain red hot, having won six games in a row and covering the spread in five of those six games. After struggling on the road early this season, Seattle has now won three straight road games, covering the spread in all three. The win over the Redskins carried the Seahawks to a 12-5 record against the spread this season.

Seattle’s top-ranked scoring defense (15.3 points per game) will have their hands full with the Falcons who average 26.2 point per game and have the sixth-ranked passing attack in the league with 281.8 yards per game through the air. On the other side of the ball, Atlanta features a bend-but-don’t-break defense. The Falcons allowed the ninth-most yards of any team (365.6 per game), but the fifth-fewest points (18.7 per game).

Despite finishing with the NFC’s best record, the Falcons have not has as much success against the spread as the Seahawks, going 9-6-1 on the season. Atlanta can’t claim to be as hot as the Seahawks either, having lost two of their last four games both against the spread and outright.

The total for the game opened at 45, but has since moved up to 45.5 or 46 at most sportsbooks.
