Browns coaching search: Ken Whisenhunt has second interview on Thursday

Cleveland may be close to finding its newest head coach.

The Cleveland Browns are bringing in former Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt for a second interview on Thursday, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Plain Dealer. Whisenhunt first met with the Browns' front office last week. If the NFL world is anything like the real-world, a second interview means the candidate has the job in the bag.

Whisenhunt was fired by the Arizona Cardinals following a 5-11 2012 season in which the team started 4-0. He had been at the helm in Arizona since 2007 and took the club to a Super Bowl appearance in 2008. He lost that game to the team for which he used to serve as the offensive coordinator, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Cardinals won the NFC West for a second-straight time in 2006 and looked to be a rising power in the conference as they advanced to the Divisional Round of the playoffs. That was the last time Whisenhunt with finish with a winning record at Arizona, as he capped his tenure off with just 18 wins over the next three seasons.
