Candidates to be considered for the 2013 Pro Football Hall of Fame were announced Friday, and include four finalists on the ballot for the first time. A total of 15 players, coaches and contributors to the game were named finalists.

Former defensive tackle Warren Sapp, New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan, Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Jonathan Ogden and offensive lineman Larry Allen (largely with the Dallas Cowboys) are the first-time candidates this year. They join fellow former players and Hall of Fame candidates Jerome Bettis, Tim Brown, Cris Carter, Curley Culp, Kevin Greene, Charles Haley, Andre Reed, Dave Robinson, Will Shields and Aeneas Williams on the ballot.

Edward Debartalo Jr., former Super Bowl-winning owner of the San Francisco 49ers from the late-1970's to the 90's, and the late Art Modell, previous owner of the Ravens and Cleveland Browns, were the finalists in the contributor category. Bill Parcells, Super Bowl-winning head coach with the Giants, and also coach of the New England Patriots, New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys, was the lone coaching nominee.

Hall of Fame voters will convene on Saturday, Feb. 2 to determine who will be enshrined.
