The looming contract negotiations between Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens probably aren't on the minds of the quarterback or the organization following Saturday's dramatic win over the Denver Broncos. Flacco's agent, Joe Linta, is making sure that people paid attention to Flacco's three-touchdown, 331-yard performance in frigid temperatures on the road. Linta told NFL.com's Ian Rapoport that Flacco is "a top-five guy, if not better."
Joe Flacco contract: Ravens QB expects big payday
Joe Flacco’s agent Joe Linta called his client a “top-five guy, if not better” as the quarterback gears up to negotiate a new contract with the Ravens this offseason.

Happiest man last night? #Ravens QB Joe Flacco's agent Joe Linta. Told me: "If you don't think that’s an elite guy, then you’re crazy."

Flacco and the Ravens tried to work out a deal last offseason before he officially became a unrestricted free agent, but the two sides were never able to come to an agreement. Talks remained amiable, but could become more contentious in 2013 now that a deal has to get done. The Ravens could give Flacco the franchise tag, though that move wouldn’t likely sit well with Linta or his client.
The Ravens may not want to pay Flacco like a top-five NFL quarterback, but they may have no choice considering the alternative.
