NFL playoffs 2013 bracket: Falcons advance to NFC Championship

Atlanta and Matt Ryan finally broke their postseason losing streak, and the Falcons will move on to take on the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship next weekend.

The NFC's No. 1 seed, the Atlanta Falcons, are through to the NFC Championship game. The Falcons snapped their postseason losing streak on Sunday with a 30-28 win over the Seattle Seahawks. After giving up 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, Matt Ryan and the Falcons put together a quick drive to set up a Matt Bryant game-winning field goal with 13 seconds remaining. Bryant split the uprights to advance Atlanta to the NFC Championship game. They will now welcome the San Francisco 49ers to the Georgia Dome next Sunday for the right to represent the NFC in Super Bowl XLVII.

The Falcons had dropped their last four playoff games, but that streak came to a stop on Sunday, when Ryan and Mike Smith picked up their first win in four postseason appearances. While the 49ers will be making their second straight NFC Championship game appearance, this will be the first time Atlanta has gone this deep in the playoffs since 2004. Atlanta is 1-1 in conference title games.

The final spot in the conference title games will be decided Sunday afternoon when the New England Patriots host the Houston Texans in Foxboro, Mass. The Baltimore Ravens will visit the winner of that game next week in the AFC Championship game. You can find the full playoff bracket on the NFL's official website here.
